Mailing Lists and Data Protection

We hold various different lists including a directory of the church family, and email mailing lists for prayer requests and admin.

To add yourself to any of these lists, change the consent you have previously given, or to request a directory, please click here.

(Please note in both cases (add and change) that all over-16 people are considered by the law as independent adults and have to give their own consents)

These lists are all held in accordance with the General Data Protection Legislation (GDPR) that was implemented in 2018. It gives you rights and control over the use of your data. Below is an outline of these rights (the document may also be downloaded here)

The Data we collect

  • The data consists of your name, address and contact details (phone number and email address) – If you have consented it may include the names of your children

  • The data includes whether you are a member, or an officer of the church and it includes the consents that you have given for how we may use your data

Storage of the Database

Our website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to have a website. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications.

You will notice that we have no private emails on the church website. This is an effort to avoid web-crawlers and other such harvesting programs

 

How we use the data: please note that we only use your data in each the following ways if you have explicitly consented to that use

  • Directory listing: we publish an address list as a pdf document

  • Please note that we publish this only upon request – this has the particular effect that the data is always as up to date as it can be. We do not hold ‘old’ copies of address lists

  • Please note that we only release the address list to people that we know​

​       In cases where you do not have access to a printer we may, upon request, provide a paper copy

  • Information which is emailed out as appropriate: This consist of the following kinds of email

  • Monthly Noticeboard

  • Administration notices

  • These may be official church notice

        These may be requests for help and aid or something to sell etc. - please send such items               to admin@ipc-liss.com and please remember to reply to the original author(s) rather than to admin

  • Prayer requests: Please send such requests to prayer@ipc-liss.com (and if you reply please remember to reply to the appropriate person rather than the prayer list itself)

  • Monthly Prayer letter

Your Rights

 

You have a right to be informed of what data we hold about you and how we use it

You have a right to access your data – we will provide you with a copy of what we hold. We will provide this by email unless you request some other media

You have a right to rectify any mistakes we will correct and update your data as soon as we can

You have a right to be forgotten which means that you can ask us to erase your data from our database and we will erase it and no longer use for further dissemination of the uses we offer
