Philippians 2:4:  Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

During the first covid lockdown in Spring 2020, a few of us at IPC realised how much the people in our village were being affected by the pandemic, and so wanted to do something positive to reach out to our community.

Over the last few months we have done several projects for the residents of Care Homes in the area, as we felt that these people were particularly vulnerable and in need of support and encouragement.  However, our aim is to respond to local needs as a church community, and not solely to Care Homes.  We are open to new ideas and would like to continue to work as a group involving as many folk who would like to join us.  We are prayerful about our projects and reach out to the community spiritually, as well as practically.

The various projects we have done to date are handmade cards, cakes and biscuits, flowers in jars, bagged chocolates, lavender hearts and Easter chicks.  Each resident receives the gift, along with a message of love and support, a verse from the Bible and details of how to correspond with our church or watch our online services.  We have received positive feedback from the Care Homes for each project we have done and look forward to becoming even more of a presence within our community during 2021.

Ephesians 2:10:  For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
